The War Cemetery located around an old Catholic church that belongs to the Sts Gordian and Epimachus’ Parish holds the graves of Germans who died in the Dietersheim POW camp established by the Americans after the liberation as well as those of foreign victims of World War II. Among the several dozen graves that can be found on the southern and western sides of the church, the majority are the final resting places of Polish citizens. These were forced labourers deported to Germany, who died between 1942 and 1945. The graves are marked by granite plaques laid in several rows paved with stone cubes.
