Hauptfriedhof Bad Kreuznach

Cemetery description

The Main Cemetery in Bad Kreuznach holds several war graves burial sections, two of which contain the last remains of a number of Polish citizens. In the centre of the cemetery one can find a mass grave of 28 prisoners of the Sachsenhausen concentration camp, 3 of whom were Poles. The names of all the victims are inscribed upon several bronze plaques that lie on both sides of a monument presenting two women in mourning. The monument bears the following inscription: ‘Respect for the Dead, a Warning to the Living.’
The remaining Polish citizens are buried in a nearby burial section for the victims of Fascism, and the first and last names of several of them are commemorated on several plaques placed on the ground.
