Eibelshausen Friedhof

Cemetery description

The central part of the small commune cemetery in Eibelshausen holds the graves of several victims of World War II. The main part of this burial site, located in the south part of the cemetery and upon a hillside, is marked by a basalt cross and a memorial plaque with the following text inscribed upon it: ‘Torn apart from their families, forced to labour in a foreign country, they died - with yearning in their hearts - at the end of the terrible war. After all, they were the same people as we are.’ A number of Polish victims are buried here.
