Cemetery description

A newly designed memorial devoted to victims of World War II can be found on the left side of the cemetery in Altentreptow. It consists of a central memorial stone, three symbolic stone crosses commemorating both the identified and unidentified German soldiers who fell in the war as well as a monument devoted to civilian war victims of various nationalities. The personal data of the deceased, whose surnames are known, can be found on the bronze slab of this monument. This is the site where anonymous victims, among them probably Poles, are interred. In all likelihood, the victims were buried in the place where six wooden crosses used to stand. At present, only one of these has survived. The section can be found at the end of the cemetery.
