Friedhof Genthin

Cemetery description

The back part of the cemetery holds a mass grave of victims of World War II.
It is marked by an erratic boulder with the following memorial text inscribed upon it: ‘The victims of World War II call for peace.’ This is the place where, during the last weeks of the war, approximately 300 persons were buried - victims of air bombardments, war events or those who died in the nearby lazarets (field hospitals). However, there is no information available as to their names or the events surrounding their deaths.
